HERBAL POWDER RANGE
Arnold Ehret's "Intestinal Broom " Formula,
this is a strong laxative usually only used for extreme cases or those who have
used laxatives long-term. Results are dose-dependent, and it can be taken sprinkled
onto food, taken in water or infused as a tea.
Suggested dosage: ½ teaspoon once daily
The husk of Plantago ovata (otherwise called
Isphagula husk), is rich in mucilage fibre (Arabinogalacturonosyl-rhamno-xylan)
and is commonly used as a bulking laxative. Two forms are offered:
WHOLE HUSK - suitable for general use as a bulking agent, promotes mass peristalsis
and maintains soft stools. Must be taken with plenty of water. Suggested dosage:
1 teaspoon - 1 tablespoon daily with water.
POWDER - best for structured fasting, mixing with vegetable and fruit juices
and Bentonite clay water (see under sundries). This is milled as a coarse powder
so that dispersion is easy.
Suggested dosage: During fasting, up to 1 tsp. five times daily, mixed with
juices and clay water.
Having somewhat different properties to the
husk, the seed is a slight stimulant laxative, and is very safe to use, even
during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Must always be taken with sufficient water.
We offer the dark seed which is more active than the light coloured.
Suggested dosage: ½ teaspoon up to twice daily with plenty of water.
The inner bark of Ulmus fulva, a North American
variety of elm, it is rich in mucilages and tannins; traditionally used as a
soothing and nutritive agent for gastro-intestinal inflammation, it is one of
the best mucilages available. Mix with tepid water, and drink before meals for
lower G.I. inflammation, after for upper.
Suggested dosage: ½-1 teaspoon in water up to 5 times daily.
